    5. Co-Organizer Zürich Meetup 🌟🗓️

Neuroqueer meetups in Zürich are a collaborative effort, and as a Co-Organizer, you help shape and support these gatherings in a way that makes them welcoming, structured, and enjoyable for everyone.

    Energy Level: Medium-High ⚡⚡⚡
    Social Interaction: Medium-High 🗣️🗣️🗣️
    Commitment: Regular 📅📅📅📅
    Responsibility: High 🎯🎯🎯🎯
    Open to: Regular attendees

Time commitment: 5-15 hrs / month (including NQ meetup and organizer online meeting)

Co-Organizers take responsibility for different aspects of the meetup, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Each role may involve coordinating volunteers, but this is not always required. A single person can take on multiple roles, depending on their interests and availability.

    • Moderator Coordinator – Facilitates the meetup by guiding introductions, ensuring discussions stay inclusive, and creating a safe and comfortable atmosphere for all attendees. This person is also responsible for the Welcoming Table and may coordinate the Welcome Person volunteer.
    • Snacks Coordinator – Ensures there are snacks and drinks for attendees while considering allergies and dietary needs. This includes meeting the Snacks Helper at Zürich Hauptbahnhof before the meetup to buy snacks together within the allocated 20 CHF budget provided by HAZ. After the meetup, the receipts need to be submitted to HAZ for reimbursement.
    • Set-up / Pack-down Coordinator – Oversees the preparation of the space before the meetup starts and ensures it is returned to its original state afterward, with the help of volunteers.
    • Guided Activity Coordinator – Supports attendees who wish to (co-)host an activity by helping them prepare materials and ensuring activities fit the meetup's vibe. If no one wants to host, the coordinator may need to take the initiative to organize an activity or encourage attendees to share their ideas and get involved.
    • Registration Coordinator – Manages sign-ups, ensuring the number of participants does not exceed the meetup capacity. This role works closely with the Communication Coordinator to keep everyone informed and answer logistical questions before and during the meetup. Volunteer coordination is not part of this role.
    • Communication Coordinator – Responsible for outreach by ensuring attendees receive updates, managing social media posts (including the monthly Instagram post), and keeping the website and Linktree current. This role includes sending the invitation emails, automated sign-up confirmations, and reminder emails. The Communication Coordinator also handles email inquiries and direct messages (DMs). Tasks may also be shared with the Registration Coordinator, particularly regarding attendee communication.

    What to Expect
As a Co-Organizer, you’ll be part of a small team that meets once a month for about an hour in an online meeting. These meetings are a chance to reflect on past meetups, plan upcoming ones, and discuss any ideas or improvements. The goal is to share responsibility so no one has to do everything alone, and to make sure the meetup remains a space that feels good for everyone.

    Who is this or?
This role is for people who enjoy being involved in organizing events and want to contribute regularly. It’s intended for those who have attended the meetup multiple times and may have already helped as a volunteer, so they are familiar with how everything runs. You don’t need prior experience as an organizer—just reliability, a collaborative mindset, and an interest in shaping the meetup.

While you don’t have to attend every single meetup, regular participation is encouraged to stay connected with the team and the community.
