Get Involved 🤝

Our meetup is organized by a small team, and we rely on volunteers to make it a welcoming and smooth experience for everyone. Even a little help can make a big difference! You can support the community as a one-time or regular volunteer at our meetups—or join the main team as a co-organizer.

❗️Volunteer roles may vary slightly for special meetups that take place outdoors or in unique settings, depending on the needs of the event.

Co-Organizer 🌟🗓️

Neuroqueer meetups in Zürich are a collaborative effort, and as a Co-Organizer, you help shape and support these gatherings in a way that makes them welcoming, structured, and enjoyable for everyone.

Energy Level: Medium-High ⚡⚡⚡
Social Interaction: Medium-High🗣️🗣️🗣️
Commitment: Regular 📅📅📅📅
Responsibility: High 🎯🎯🎯🎯
Open to: Regular attendees

Time commitment: about 4–8 hrs / month (including NQ meetup and a short online check-in with the team)

As a Co-Organizer, you’re part of the core team behind the monthly Neuroqueer meetup in Zürich. You contribute based on your interests and availability, and you help ensure the event runs smoothly and feels good for everyone involved.

You can choose your focus areas, such as:

  • Facilitating the meetup (moderating, guiding intros, creating a welcoming vibe)
  • Logistics and space set-up (preparation and pack-down, organizing materials)
  • Snack planning and shopping
  • Outreach and communication (Instagram, email updates, answering DMs, writing the newsletter)
  • Website maintenance (keeping the Linktree and website up to date)
  • Sign-up administration (overseeing the sign-up form and attendee list)
  • Supporting activities or community contributions
  • Volunteer coordination (welcoming and guiding volunteers at the meetup)
  • You’re also welcome to bring your own ideas—there’s plenty of freedom to shape things based on what you enjoy and care about!

What to Expect
As a Co-Organizer, you’ll be part of a small team that meets once a month for about an hour in an online meeting. These meetings are a chance to reflect on past meetups, plan upcoming ones, and discuss any ideas or improvements. The goal is to share responsibility so no one has to do everything alone.

Who is this for?
This role is for regular attendees who feel connected to the Neuroqueer community and want to help shape the meetups. You don’t need previous organizing experience—just a collaborative mindset, reliability, and a willingness to take initiative.

Whether you’re into planning, people, snacks, social media, or behind-the-scenes logistics, there’s space for you to contribute in a way that fits your style and energy.

Talk to us at a meetup or send us a message—we’d love to hear from you!
